Reflection

I’m most proud of how my thesis sharpened during revision—from a general observation to a focused, arguable claim. The section I revised the most was the body paragraph on imagery: I replaced a descriptive explanation with a clear cause‑effect analysis, showing how the device creates tone and how that tone reveals a theme about identity. Peer feedback pushed me to cut a long quotation into a shorter, more precise one and to integrate it smoothly. If I had more time, I would add a brief counterpoint paragraph to acknowledge an alternate reading and then rebut it. Overall, this piece shows I can select relevant evidence and explain its ‘why,’ not just its ‘what.’

Next Steps

  • Draft a quick evidence table before writing to ensure variety and relevance.
  • Add a short counterpoint paragraph in future essays to strengthen argument.
  • End with a synthesis that connects text insight to a broader real‑world question.
